On Location: Biogen Idec Electric Car Recharging Stations
Tuesday Feb 7th was the ribbon cutting ceremony at the RTP Biogen Idec facilities for their new electric car recharging stations. Horizon Productions was part of the event, and worked with Biogen Idec team members to capture the activities.
We recorded interviews with the four Biogen Idec employees who participated in the special program that helped with the cost of the cars and provided the new recharging stations. And following the ribbon cutting itself, we also recorded footage of the electric cars being driven around the Biogen Idec campus.
It was a bit of a challenge in terms of lighting and sound as the event was held at the charging stations inside the parking deck. Not to mention the ongoing construction at the adjacent building added to the background noise! But, Horizon’s experienced crew worked with the interviewees to make them comfortable and record their interviews about life a as an electric car owner. On the other end of sound challenges from the day’s recording, the electric cars are so quiet, that you can’t tell when they are running! So we had cranes, bulldozers, and silent vehicles all in one day’s video shoot.
All of the day’s electric car event footage will be used in a coming piece from Horizon for Biogen Idec’s annual Sustainability Day that celebrates environmental safety and earthy friendly practices.
